For this new episode of Empower Your Life with Cindy Marie, I’m excited to welcome Colleen Biggs, a true powerhouse in the world of entrepreneurship, business advising/coaching, and women’s empowerment.. Colleen’s journey is filled with lessons about resilience, growth, and building a life and business on your own terms.
Sometimes, the story of an entrepreneur doesn’t start with a big idea or a perfect plan- it begins with a feeling. Maybe it’s the restless urge to create something new, or the quiet frustration of watching others chase dreams while you stand on the sidelines. For Colleen Biggs, her journey started in the shadows of uncertainty, growing up in a home where entrepreneurship meant instability and risk. She watched her father start businesses, lose jobs, and face setbacks, and she promised herself she’d never follow that path. Instead, she set her sights on climbing the corporate ladder, believing that structure and security would bring success.
But life has a way of nudging us toward growth, often through discomfort. A need for self-sufficiency and resilience shaped Colleen’s early years. She worked hard, built processes, and quickly rose through the ranks in corporate America. Yet, as she helped others build their businesses from the inside, she began to see a different possibility for herself. The very thing she once feared — entrepreneurship — became her calling. Through years of mentorship, trial, and personal development, Colleen discovered that her real strength was helping others lay strong foundations, not just for their businesses, but for their lives.
Like Colleen, my entrepreneurship journey didn’t follow a straight line. I didn’t have anyone in my family to show me how or share the secrets of building a business. There was no blueprint or strategy passed down, and I had no one to turn to for guidance on creating a life of abundance through entrepreneurship. When I first stepped into the world of coaching, it was simply because I felt a strong pull to give myself a real chance at something that mattered to me. I’ll be honest: it was overwhelming at first. The self-doubt was real, and the learning curve was steep. But as I kept going, I realized that my purpose—my “why”—gave me the energy to keep pushing forward, even on the tough days.
Along the way, I learned the power of asking for or seeking help and surrounding myself with people who could guide me. You don’t have to do it all alone. The right support can help you stay focused on your big “why” and move you closer to your mission and purpose.

This journey isn’t about having all the answers from the start—it’s about staying open to learning, building real connections, and being willing to grow through every challenge. Colleen’s story shows us that success is built on belief: belief in yourself, in your vision, and in the difference you can make. So, keep strengthening your foundation, reach out when you need support, and never stop reaching for what truly matters to you. The next chapter of your story is yours to create —make it one you’re proud of.

Deep Thinking:
Step Back, Reflect, Take Action
- Reflect on Your Foundation: Ask yourself- Is your business built on a strong foundation? Are there gaps in your structure, processes, or systems that need attention? If so, make a plan to address them.
- Assess Your Tasks: Look at your daily activities. Which tasks truly move your business forward and generate income? Identify tasks that can be delegated or outsourced so you can focus on what you do best.
- Find Your Audience: Where do your ideal clients spend their time—LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, or elsewhere? To build genuine connections, consistently and authentically show up in those spaces.
- Nurture Your Mindset: Check in with your thoughts. Are you practicing gratitude, even during challenging times? Surround yourself with positive people and use gratitude to keep your energy high and your outlook optimistic.
- Reconnect with Your “Why”: Take a few minutes to meditate on the deeper purpose behind your work. Let this clarity guide your decisions and keep you grounded, no matter how fast things change.
- Take One Action: Choose one thing you can do this week — whether it’s improving a system, reaching out to a client, or investing in your personal growth — to move from surviving to thriving.
Greatness isn’t about doing everything yourself or being perfect, no matter where you are in your business or coaching journey. It’s about having a strong foundation, focusing on what matters most, and staying true to your purpose. Be open to change, listen to others, and let gratitude keep you positive. Find people who support you, and always keep learning and growing.
You already have what you need to become your best self, as an entrepreneur, coach, or leader, in any field you choose. The world needs your unique gifts and story. Take your next step with confidence and keep moving forward. Your success story is waiting — make it one worth sharing.
