Read Time: 4 minutes

There comes a moment when you realize it’s not that you “don’t have time”—it’s that your time and energy have been stretched so thin across everyone else’s needs that there’s almost nothing left for you.

During this interview, I actually had a big internet interruption, and we had to pause and come back to finish our conversation. It was a real-life reminder of what we talk about in this episode: staying grounded, patient, and intentional with our time and energy, even when things don’t go as planned. I deeply appreciate Romeo’s professionalism, kindness, and patience in seeing this episode through with me.

In this episode of Empower Your Life with Cindy Marie, we’re joined by International Speaker, Success Coach, and Bestselling Author Romeo Marquez Jr. to explore what it truly means to reclaim your time, elevate your energy, and live in full expression of who you are.

At some point in our conversation, I started calling him “Mr. Acronyms” 😀 because of how naturally he turns life lessons into simple, powerful words you can remember. To really experience his creativity with these principles and strategies, you’ll want to watch or listen to the full episode.

Romeo grew up loving dance, performance, and creativity, yet for many years, he hid those passions out of fear of rejection and not being “enough.” Everything began to shift when he took his first acting class in community college and heard a simple but powerful sentence from his teacher: “You won’t know if you don’t go.”

That one “yes” led him to audition for a play, then to study acting at UCLA, to open an acting school, to create a one-man show called It’s Time, and eventually to speak and train audiences all over the world. But his journey hasn’t been a straight line of wins. He also walks us through one of the hardest seasons of his life—the passing of his father and several loved ones—and how he chose to turn that pain into purpose, power, and deeper service.

Through his story, Romeo invites us to see that reclaiming our time and elevating our energy are not luxuries. It is a necessity if we want to live a life that feels honest, grounded, and aligned with our soul.

Key Takeaways
  • Use your values to guide your “yes” and “no.”
  • Focus on fewer priorities, more deeply, instead of trying to do everything.
  • Protect your attention like treasure, especially from distractions and constant scrolling.
  • Elevate your energy with simple daily rituals like gratitude, movement, and reflection.
  • Try the “inner AI” tools: Awareness, Alignment, Affirmations, and Appreciation.
  • Live LIFE: Living In Full Expression—allowing your true self to be seen and heard.
Why This Matters to You:

Maybe you feel like your days run you instead of you running your days. Maybe you’re always there for others but rarely present for yourself. Or perhaps you know there’s a more honest, energized version of you inside—but you’re not sure how to begin living that way.

Romeo’s story and tools are a reminder that change doesn’t start with a huge leap; it starts with small, honest choices—one boundary, one morning habit, one “no” that protects your “yes,” one moment of gratitude, one step toward the life that feels true.

You don’t need to be perfect or have it all figured out. You just need to be willing to notice where your time and energy are going—and gently choose again.

Deep Reflection for You

Take a moment to reflect: Where is your time really going — and does it match what you say you value most? What would change if you protected the first part of your day for you — your mind, your heart, your energy — before giving it away to the world?

Reclaiming your time is not selfish; it is a way of honoring the life you’ve been given. When you fill your own cup, the way you show up for others becomes more generous, present, and real.

Step Back, Reflect, Take Action
  • Choose your top 3 priorities for tomorrow — and let the rest be optional.
  • Notice your screen time today and ask what small shift you can make.
  • Try one simple morning practice: gratitude, reading, or 5 minutes of stillness.
  • Say one honest “no” this week so you can say a truer “yes” to yourself.
  • Ask yourself: What would living in full expression look like for me right now?

Remember, there is no perfect way to manage your time or energy. What matters is that you become more honest about where they are going, and that you give yourself the space, grace, and courage to realign them with what you value most—even if it takes time and many small attempts, as it did for Romeo.

If this episode speaks to you, share it with someone who is also learning to set better boundaries, reclaim their focus, and live with more joy and authenticity. Little by little, you are allowed to design a life that truly reflects who you are becoming.
